I love this question – how to think of the Blood storing pathology at the yuan level versus the Luo level. And it’s nice to be able to SEE the Luo vessels as places where the Blood is storing emotional pathology. As for how to distinguish Blood that is storing pathology at the yuan level, especially the divergents…I’ve been wondering how to think about this myself, since ostensibly when pathology is stored at the divergent levels, it’s stored in joints. So how does Blood, or thin fluids, get involved there? All I can think of is that these fluids are the ones that are pulled on to support the storage in the joints (which is easier to consider, since Chinese medicine is SO full of relationships).

Anyone have any clearer and more discerning view than my clumsy one?

Armin, I can only speak from personal experience, since I don’t work with people and can’t get my animal pattents to do the kind of precise movements on request! But I find that I will compensate for pain and avoid movement without realizing it. My husband developed shoulder pain “after sleeping” (not quite the same as just during sleep) and denied any other disfunction for quite a while, but did finally confess that he had pain during certain movements. So, just a thought that asking her to show you her range of motion and how well she is able to move the joint in different ways might elucidate some new perception. Would love to hear how she does, no matter what you do!

Elizabeth, it appears that you are not treating the woman with lots of nodules for her nodules or her mental condition. What brought her to you? Treating Luos can treat many other conditions, so it may be something you could offer without having to make her change her goals.

When you test movement, do you test movement with resistance? Or just with the weight of her own arm?

Hi Lois! Horses are pretty amazing to work – I sometimes think of them as being crystalized spirit! Plus they are incredibly musculoskeletal in their function, so they are very responsive muscle and fascia AND energy work. So glad you are getting that experience. Nice to know that there are others doing animal work.

I would be curious if you ever get a chance to do divergent work for acute infections. I saw 2 kittens who had a rough start and had terrible upper respiratory infections when very young, which were turning into chronic coughs when I saw them. I used the LU Divergent treatment SDS and the coughs disappeared – it was so gratifying!

That’s pretty exciting. I know you guys hate this question, but is this a process that takes weeks or months or years, if there is any ability to generalize…..?

    Thanks, Cody!
