Hi Tal, Your choice of 8 extra channels is clear. Chong and Ren make perfect sense. I do think that more time is needed to work on them than just one treatment. It also might be that you need to actually start with Yin Wei Mai.
Yin wei mai function is to bring the patient to the present moment. If she is caught up in the past trauma it might be gentler to first start there, and only after to engage with the Ren and Chong. Yin Wei gather the Yin and bring them back to the Ren.

SP and KI connection can be restored via the internal trajectory of the KI channel connecting KI2 and SP8, Needle and Moxa starting on KI2 and then SP8

Hi Elizabeth, Thank you for sharing this case with us.
It looks like there are two parts to this – the patient’s treatment, and your gut feelings.

As for the patient, clearly there was a trauma in the past. The “dry” clinical possibilities in this case can be Chong and Yin Wei. The difference between Chong and Yin Wei is that use of Chong indicate ancestral origin – which will mean – you “believe” her record as the root of PF. Yin Wei would suggest that the trauma happened in this lifetime and has no ancestral origin.
Your choice of treatment is an evidence of your opinion.

Treatments of phobias can also be treated by the Luos through Empty KI Luo. – choosing this treatment would not treat the origin per se, but will treat the symptoms of it – manifestation of phobias.

as a practitioner , if you choose to continue treating her you can choose the 8x vessel that feels right to you, or stir clear of the Yuan level all together, and address the emotional manifestation.

    I hope that helped some…

Well, the idea is that we can address any issue from the perspective of any channel system. So If your focus is Sinew channels – we will deduct that the herniation is a result of very tight paravertebral muscles. so you will keep working on Tai Yang Sinew. If the area feel cold to the touch – you can add Moxa.
If you want to involve Primary points you can add Spring or River points to address inflammation.
But – If you are looking at it as a “bone” issue (Yuan level) you will end up either in the Divergent Channels or the Eight Extra – specifically the Qiaos – they affect structure and bones.

    Hi Antoine,
LR can be pain all the time, numbness, or pain with no movement. Sitting for a while has no movement. The act of sitting as well as the act of getting up from a sited position would be other channels. But if there lack of movement when the pain is felt – it would be LR.

    Hi Antoine,
Divergent treatment would suggest that the pathogen is in latency. You can choose it to strengthen Wei Qi and affect the bone since you are dealing with Yuan level energetic (Bone). In this case, you can do BL divergent. It would free up the lower back and boost Wei qi to resolve the issue.
Other things to consider if you are entering the Divergent arena is the availability of resources. If they are dehydrated or have deficient blood – you might choose advance confluences such as ST or GB divergent (respectively)

    Hi Amy,
Yes, they will resolve with treatment.
At first, it might seem like the are filling back up. That is not the “same” pathology. The body is bringing more stored pathology to be cleared out.

    Hi Armin,
We usually start Sinew treatments from the most interior channels that are involved, going outwards. So Jue Yin would be the most interior, and then GB. If other channels are involved – for example, if you had Tai Yin and Yang Ming involvement in the picture you would start with Jue Yin, them Tai Yin then Yang Ming then Shao Yang.
And of course, before each treatment, we need to see if the components of Wei Qi are present: LU diffusion, ST fluid, KI Yang and Relaxed LR. Hope this helps.
    C-
