    Hi all,
First post on here so – HELLO!

Just wanted to check something. Through the divergent lens, if I wanted to interpret a change in the pulses during treatment at the wei level ie sinew channels – I should use the the SINEW pulse map and not the organ positions?
Here is a theoretical example of what I mean as it’s tricky for me to word this:

Say I’m treating the Stomach divergent – I’d be in the guan position on the right, the thin fluids would be at the moderate level of the pulse, the divergent pulse would be at 15 beans but the SINEW pulse would be at 1-3 beans in the CHI position? If I was to feel a change at the wei level in the right guan, it would actually indicate a change in the shao yang sinew?

Am I correct here, or does the the fact that I’m using divergents mean that the sinew pulses relate to the organ positions on the pulse?

    Many thanks in advance.
    Paul

    Hello Paul,

    Welcome on the forum !
I would say that the pulse you’re looking for is on the same position. It is not the same “lens” that you’re using when taking from the perspective of Sinews and the Divergent. So in you’re example if you want to check a change after doing a ST Divergent, you’re looking at the right guan position. Remember that the Divergent connects the Jing and Wei Level, and the Divergent pulse follows the one commonly associated with the organs. So the communication between the Jing and the Wei will take place at the same position.
    Cheers,
    Antoine

    Hello Antoine,
Thank you so much for your reply and a thousand apologies for not replying sooner – I have only been checking for updates via the main page on the forum and didn’t realise you had replied. I have had a better look at how the forum works now so I don’t make that mistake again.

Your response makes a lot of sense (both theoretically and in my experience in clinic) so thank you!

    Cheers 🙂
