Can anyone recommend resources that patients can read when they ask to learn more? Often it’s a question that’s non-specific, in the sense that they appreciate the change that they’re experiencing and are either curious to learn more or perhaps they would like a framework or container that explains their experience. Many TCM books for the lay reader I feel aren’t especially inspiring. They are either too technical or too fluffy-woo-woo. There’s a middle ground where the naturally inspiring process of Chinese medicine could be explained, but I haven’t come across a resource like this – would love some recommendations!

    Hi Lois,
Ted Kaptchuk, The Web that has no Weaver, and also between Heaven and Earth are probably the closest to what you’re looking for.
(I am writing one at the moment but am stalled with it because there’s a growing number of lay people subscribing to the blog for exactly the reason you describe and I’m focussed there now for that exact reason, rather than that book.) But the best teaching comes from the practitioner in the clinic. Words are so limiting and with your presence you can convey the truth of it all.
    Thanks for writing, Lois.
