ParticipantWhat are the guidelines about how old a child needs to be before using the 1st Ancestry channels? Does the age differ if the child is developmentally disabled? Any special considerations if the child experienced early sexual abuse?

ParticipantI too have this question. I also have a related question to the topic of pediatrics and 8extra: frequent colds after treatment? I’m not sure how to introduce this question

ParticipantHello Pamela and Kyle,
I’m not doing a lot of 8X, and definitely not pediatrics. I’m curious as well about this subject. Maybe you can find more informations in the book about pulse diagnosis, I know there is a chapter about the diagnosis of children. There is a lot informations, and not only about the pulse in this book!

ParticipantHi all,
I recall Ann saying in the live chat on couple of occasions that it is fine to use 8ev’s on children at any age if and when it’s called for such as a disability or emotional trauma or any other serious illness of the first cycle of Jing. You could use essential oils on the first and last point of the trajectory of the channel and visualize the whole channel being lit up so to speak. If you go for essential oils, the protocol would be everyday for 90 days.
I used Chong Mai on a 3 year old who had severe acid reflux, vomiting of all stomach content several times daily with pretty good results. I only did a few sessions once a week combined with dietary recommendations, of course. In this case, I did a combination of simply holding the points energetically and some visualization.
Kyle, do you mean that the child catches colds after your 8ev sessions? Can you give us more details as to what you mean, your case and what you have done so far.

ParticipantHi Armin,
My previous reply must have been lost in the internet…
Patient: 7yo, F. Diagnosed with Mosaic Turner’s at age 6mo. Turner’s is a variation of the presence of XX chromosomes. Patient has Mosaic Turner’s meaning some tissues sampled had missing (_X), some extra (XXX), and some typical (XX) genes. This shows in patient with Turner’s morphology: extra neck skin, extra eye skin, smaller palate, smaller nose, smaller ears, lower ear location, “Shield Chest” (breast bone more pronounced with a significant dip in the CV 16 region). Smaller stature. Endocrinology: higher Estrogen count meaning Ovaries are likely underdeveloped. Extra connective tissue: tongue ties, bi-cuspid instead of tri-cuspid valve in Atrium. Clumsiness: spatial recognition impaired, easily bumps into things. Drooling. easily distracted, difficult to maintain focus.
Prognosis: anticipate delayed or no puberty, anticipate infertility.Chinese Medical:
Tongue signs: heat in low burner
Prior treatment: Primary meridians: KI 3 with Moxa, Stomach and Spleen command points plus Moxa. Moxa along GV/CV channels. Moxa along abdominal KI, Stomach lines. Results: some improvement, not sustained.
Current TX: 8xtra Chong Mai, 3rd trajectory: SP4, KI 10, BL 54, KI Prime with Moxa and EO nightly SP4.
Results: strong improvement in attention, presence, speech, drool, maybe spatial awareness.
New Symptom: Easily catches cold. Sometimes correlates with weather changes, sometimes “just wakes up with runny nose” (clear). Can expect a day cold the day after treatment resolves on its own. Sometimes colds prevent follow-up sessions based on my caution of treating jing while another pattern is present. Wind/Cold treatments have little/no effect. Tonified lung qi instead of 8xtra last appointment. waiting on results.January 28, 2021 at 3:59 pm #9691Armin
ParticipantHi Kyle,
Thanks for sharing the details of your case.
This does sound like a case for 8ev’s. I see that you are boosting the constitutional yang with good success. I’m not 100% sure as to why the frequent colds. I know Jing is cold in nature and working with 8ev’s can make the body cold for a bit after sessions as jing is tapped into. So it’s important for your patient to take care after treatments with respect to EPF. This is more for the parents, of course. Also, making sure there’s not much sugar and goodies in the picture especially while you do the deeper level work.
The only other thing I can think of would be possibly that the Moxa nightly on Sp 4 might be much on top of the essential oil application. Perhaps one or the other. I think I recall reading somewhere that Moxa for young children might not be suitable, although in this case, it may be appropriate due to the constitutional challenges.
Hopefully others will have more insights.

ParticipantA bit of an afterthought; you would want to make sure that the amount of the essential oil being applied is very very small, so just a hint of it. You may already have this covered but just in case. I think the combination of the moxa, EO and the 3rd trajectory might be pushing the yang too far out and possibly leaving the exterior open.
Just a thought!

ParticipantHi Kyle and Armin,
You seem to be doing pretty well, Kyle. All I would add to this is moxa on Dàzhuī 大椎 Du14 in order for the Yang you are stimulating from Dumai via Chongmai 3rd trajectory to be distributed to the Yang channels (they all cross that point). It is actually a point well known for its ability to boost the immune system.
Regards 🙂
