    Hello everyone,

I have a patient with restless legs, only in the evening. She is 55, very active. She only feels the legs in the evening, when she relax. Nothing during the night. She has to walk, to move to relieve the symptoms. Otherwise she has not a lot of symptoms, she can have insomnia sometimes, and headaches occasionally. I noticed a slight tremor sometimes, but it is not always there.
Her pulse is quite interesting, the pulse is mainly palpable at the guan position on both wrist. Not rapid, the TR pulse is difficult to feel. Overall it feels weak. She also has an epigastric area quite tight, but with no specific symptoms.
I have two questions about this case :
    1. It seems to be an issue with the internalisation of Wei Qi during the evening. How can we approach this ? I’m using the Divergent and she has improved a lot, but I feel that I’m missing something in my understanding of this symptom.
    2. What this specific pulse presentation means and how to treat it ?

    Thank you,
    Cheers,
    Antoine

Hi Antoine, Regarding the pulse presentation, given that the guan position is most prominent on both sides and that it seems to be calling out for your attention, and given there are symptoms above and below, it makes me wonder about the possibility of Dai Mai blockage preventing circulation to legs. If you haven’t already ruled out the possibility of a Dai Mai pulse, it may be something to explore. It is what jumps out at me from your description above.

    Hello Rene,

Thank you for your answer. I thought about Dai Mai too, but didn’t venture in this territory. What makes me hesitate, it is the sense of lack of directionality from the pulse, especially on the right side. I wonder if this pulse is a Dai Mai one, or this could be indicating a lack of power from the middle burner to move and transform. I remember reading something about this specific pulse presentation and a weakness there, maybe in Ann’s pulse book.
I’ll look more into the Dai Mai with the pulse next time, and maybe try to work on it to see if it can help.
    Cheers,
    Antoine
