ParticipantHy everyone!
I’ve a patient with a severe stuttering. She got it since she was two years old. It seems that she used to speak a lot until she caught a parotiditis. After that she started to stuttering. She is 45, she went to a
Speech therapist and she improved but she stuttered again after a few months. She explained she had been mistreated by her grandmother since she was two. Firstly, her grandmother took care of her and her sister when her mother went to working but little by little the grandmother pretended that the girls didn’t return to their mother…and she succeeded. The grandmother threatened her daughter with death so the mother didn’t try to get her daughters back.
The patient refers that last year she finally forgived her mother and her grandmother. She is in peace.
I only have found Du15 for stuttering but I really don’t know how to needle it. I would like to ask if anybody has experience with that and if another 8xtra can be performed to help that situation.Thank you so much.
Anna.

ParticipantHello Anna,
I don’t have experiences with this condition, but it may be interesting to see if an empty Heart Luo treatment can help. In the symptoms of the empty Luo, there is speech difficulty. The Luo will also work on the emotional component of the trauma that she has suffered during her childhood. The tongue is related to the Heart, and the capacity to speak freely “from your Heart”. Maybe check if there is blood vessels on the trajectory and palpate for nodules. In this case you do the treatment on the opposite side where the HT pulse is located, therefore on the right arm.
Did she work with the speech therapist last year ? The same year she forgave her mother and grandmother ?
Hope that helps!

ParticipantHi Anna,
There seems to be an insult to the that which symbolizes the bonding with the mother, namely Renmai. Since this occurred within the first cycle of 7 and 8, a Renmai treatment may be considered. Ren23 is an interesting point that connects with the root of the tongue.
In an Divergent scenario, a Spleen channel treatment may be appropriate, since the Spleen is the organ that represents the source of postnatal nourishment that the mother embodies at an emotional level. By virtue of it being a Divergent channel you can access also emotional material (trauma) that might be buried in the unconscious mind (Yuan level). This channel also happens to feature Ren23 which is a prominent point to treat problems related with the tongue and speech.
She might have resolved her issues with both mother and grandmother at a conscious level, but if the stuttering persists there might be other deeper issues operating at an unconscious level. If the damage to Renmai was deep, it might have affected Chongmai. The chest trajectory of Chongmai could be considered as a treatment to reconnect Heart to Kidney (particularly if trauma is suspected and this axis has been affected), and to free the chest so Renmai can flow and reach Ren23, which also happens to be a point of this trajectory. You might find that by treating this trajectory she can get out of her chest all the pain and she can effectively “verbalize” it (Ren23).
What an interesting case, Anna! Let us know how you’re doing!
Una abraçada

ParticipantHi Antoine,
Thank you for your answer. I didn’t answer because I couldn’t see the patient again because of her timetable. I’ll check the luos and I’ll let you know what I find.
Thank you for your time.
Anna.

ParticipantHi Monica!
Thank you for your answer. I thought something related to the Chong but I wasn’t sure at all. I’ll focus on pulses to decide which treatment I’ll perform (Chong or Renmai) or which treatment I’ll have to start with.
It’s very interesting de Divergent treatment, I’ll keep it in mind. I’ll keep you posted.Moooltes gràcies.
Anna 😉
